UGDSB collaborates with United Way on ‘Local Love Week’ campaign

GUELPH, Ontario — February 14 to 20 is Ontario’s first annual Nonprofit Sector Appreciation Week.

In the province of Ontario alone, there are more than one million people who work in the non-profit sector, everyday they dedicate their energy into making their communities a better place to learn and live.

The UGDSB has decided to participate in Nonprofit Sector Appreciation Week by collaborating with United Way (Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin) on their #LocalLoveWeek campaign from February 14 to 18.

What is Local Love Week? It is an opportunity to celebrate the role of philanthropy and non-profit organizations in our community that support individuals and families in need. It is a week where community members can come together to help by showing acts of kindness, rallying for their favourite causes and thinking about others. 

This week we’re encouraging all UGDSB schools to show us how they show their Local Love in their community with daily Local Love Challenges.
