UGDSB Cooperative Education Employer of the Week (April 11, 2022)

Each week, the Upper Grand District School Board highlights a different employer or organization in our community that supports Upper Grand students through cooperative education.
Shelburne Physiotherapy Centre has been operating in Shelburne for over 20 years. Owner David Egbert and his staff support the Centre Dufferin District High School Co-op Program by offering exceptional learning opportunities and training to Co-op students.
For the duration of the Co-op placement, the student is considered a PTA (physiotherapy assistant). Daily responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing, doing the laundry, filing documents, reviewing stretches and exercises with patients, and performing ultrasounds and laser therapy. As the student gains more skill, their responsibilities expand to include individually working with patients with minimal supervision and using the TENS machine.
The UGDSB would like to thank the Shelburne Physiotherapy Centre for everything they do to support student learning!
