UGDSB Cooperative Education Employer of the Week (May 9, 2022)

Each week, the Upper Grand District School Board highlights a different employer or organization in our community that supports Upper Grand students through cooperative education.

Mike Hayes has owned and operated Allgreen Tree Service since 1990. Located in Elmira, Allgreen serves the Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Cambridge areas and offers year-round service, including pruning, tree removal, stumping, fertilizing and soil management, pest management, maintenance and planting. Allgreen has ISA Certified Arborists on staff and provides residential and commercial services.

Mike and the team at Allgreen have been supporting a full-time Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) co-op student through the UGDSB’s Continuous Intake Co-op program since the start of the school year, and the student has been able to grow in his skills over the course of his placement. Mike and his team are dedicated professionals and excellent mentors for the student, and they are providing him with priceless experience, which will put him on the path to success in his future career as an arborist.

The UGDSB would like to thank Mike and Allgreen Tree Service for their continued support of our Co-operative Education programs, and we look forward to our continued partnership.
