UGDSB is seeking employers for quad 2 Co-op placements

November 12, 2020

GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board is looking for employers who are interested in taking on a Co-op student during the second quadmester.

Students are available to assist in-person or remotely in a variety of business sectors including the arts, communications, green industries, computers, marketing and sales, cosmetology, culinary arts, animal care, health care, environment, security, legal, accounting, office administration, human resources, transportation and construction and more. Whatever your need, the UGDSB Co-op Department will try and match a student with your business.

Employers have the opportunity to interview and determine if the student meets their needs, and to learn more about the student’s interests.

A teacher mentor will provide support to the employer, supervisor and student.

UGDSB students receive training before being placed, including COVID-19 awareness training and basic heath and safety training. Students are also taught the importance of confidentiality and ethics in the workplace.

Once placed, students are at their placement for five hours per day, either remotely or in-person. Quadmester 2 Co-op placements will start around November 27 and will end around January 27.
