GUELPH, Ontario – This week, organizations came together to discuss how to best support Muslim students in local schools.
Members of the Upper Grand District School Board were invited to a screening of the CBC’s 14 & Muslim documentary, hosted by the Muslim Society of Guelph.
Following the screening, community representatives, including the UGDSB’s Equity Lead, participated in a panel discussion on supporting Muslim students in school.
Approximately 75 people were in attendance, including UGDSB school staff, board staff and senior administrators, and representatives from the Wellington Catholic board. Current Upper Grand students were also in attendance along with students, staff and parents from Guelph’s Meezan School.
The Upper Grand is excited to continue this important work with the Muslim Society of Guelph.
