UGDSB students featured in Resiliency Poetry Contest
May 25, 2021
ORANGEVILLE, Ontario – Earlier this year, the Orangeville Public Library in partnership with Family Transition Place’s Youth Educators, held a contest to encourage students to create six-word poems that highlight how they or someone they know has shown resiliency over the last year.
Many students from Upper Grand District School Board’s Dufferin County schools participated in the contest and the results were exceptional.
Grade 7 Island Lake Public School student Chloe submitted a winning entry.
Several other UGDSB students received an honourable mention. Honourable mentions went to:
- Brooklyn, grade 6 at Princess Elizabeth PS
- Jayden, grade 7 at Primrose ES
- Gabriel, grade 8 at Laurelwoods ES
- Sarah, grade 8 at Laurelwoods ES
Congratulations Chloe and to everyone who submitted a poem to the contest.
