MOUNT FOREST – On June 13, Victoria Cross Public School officially opened the new playground at the school.
Students, the school, families and the community worked together over the past five years to raise the funds for a new playground. The playground is wheelchair accessible and has been proven to be very popular with students.
On June 13, community members including Andy Lennox, the Mayor of Mount Forest, representatives of the Lions Club, school council members, school staff and students attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. UGDSB Trustee Bruce Schieck and Superintendent of Education Brent McDonald were also in attendance.
Students gathered near the pavement to watch the ribbon cutting ceremony declaring the playground officially open.
