Westside SS holds annual ‘Pink Day’ fundraiser for breast cancer research

November 9, 2021

Westside Secondary School was washed in the colour pink as students and staff celebrated their annual Pink Day Fundraiser.

Westside’s Pink Day Fundraiser started back in 2005 and their loyalty to support a good cause has never wavered. Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the students at Westside SS stepped up to show their generosity and school spirit in support of fundraising for breast cancer research.

Our students stepped up to ensure Pink Day was a day of positivity and kindness. Our grade 12 students were especially keen to leave a Pink Day legacy behind, as we were unable to participate in a major way last year,” said event organizer Christine Kirkland.

Overall, Westside SS was able to raise more than $11,000 for the Breast Cancer Society of Canada, with many of the students reaching over $1,000 donation targets on their own.
