Westwood PS students run assembly about leadership and grit

January 30, 2019

GUELPH, Ontario – Grade 4 and 6 students at Westwood Public School recently ran an assembly for junior classes at the school to teach them about grit. At Westwood, each grade takes a turn running assemblies and this month, students decided to make the theme grit.

The Grit Games was an idea that Westwood PS teacher Ms. Walton had for her students as a way of teaching junior classes about leadership.

Each of the classes got a paper weight lifter to write their personal goals on at the end of the assembly. The goal of the activity was to start conversations in the classroom, hoping students will share their experiences about the grit games with others.
