Willow Road Public School celebrates 50 years

GUELPH, Ontario – Generations of staff, students, alumni and community members were at Willow Road Public School on Thursday evening, celebrating Willow’s 50th anniversary.
The event featured student led-tours, memory lanes filled with old yearbooks, photos and school spirit wear. There were also food trucks outside, a BBQ and photo booth.
Former staff and students gathered in the library to flip through old photos, reminisce about their time at the school, and catch up with old friends.
All year long, the Guelph elementary school is marking its 50th anniversary. As part of the celebrations, earlier this year staff made t-shirts for everyone at the school with their motto BELIEVE on the front and 50 on the back. The word ‘believe’ means a lot to the school. It signifies the importance of telling kids to believe in themselves and believe in the things they can accomplish.
