Orangeville/Dufferin and Erin Secondary French Immersion (FI) Assessment

Background

The board’s Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP), identified a program review in 2018/19 to conduct a French Immersion/International Baccalaureate (FI/IB) Impact Study for Orangeville/Dufferin and Erin secondary schools.

Staff conducted an IB feasibility study and survey in the Spring of 2019 and determined that an IB programme was not feasible in Orangeville, Dufferin, or Erin, at this time.

The Board directed staff to bring forward a report in the Fall of 2019 to initiate an impact study of FI programming in the Orangeville, Dufferin, and Erin school communities.
