Policy 102 School Generated Funds

Public Consultation and Policy Feedback

Public consultation on this policy is now open.  Feedback will be received until January 12, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. EST.

It is the policy of the Upper Grand District School Board to permit schools to raise funds from approved sources and direct them to specific purposes for the benefit of students, the community, and recognized charitable causes. Aligned with the Ministry of Education’s School Fundraising Guideline, all fundraising activities must also support the principles of public education, including diversity, accessibility and inclusivity.

This policy has been revised with the addition of updated sections and/or clauses moved from the procedures. While there has been no significant change to the current practice relating to school generated funds, this policy is out for public consultation to draw awareness to the principles and parameters of fundraising activities, how school generated funds are managed, how these funds may be used, as well as the recategorization (and renumbering) of the policy, now under the Finance category.
