June Updates and newsletter

Posted June 1, 2022

Please see the attached June newsletter for all of the upcoming activities, events and learning happening at Brisbane this month! _2022 June Newsletter (1)

Today is June 1st and our Pride flag is up to show inclusion, acceptance and diversity!

Elections will be happening at Brisbane on Thursday June 2nd so we ask all parents who are voting to use the bus area from 9am-2:30pm if you are voting at Brisbane in the gym.

This Friday, June 3rd is a PA Day and there is no school for students! Staff will be working on transition planning and assessment for report card writing.  New JK students for Sept 2023 are invited to attend a Kindergarten orientation at 9am-10am. Students visit a classroom and parents will be meeting in the gym for information. You may park in the bus area.

We are planning a fun and active ropes obstacle course program for our Grades 1-6 students on June 17, June 20 and 21 in our own gymnasium! The Guelph Grotto are trained staff and they will be bringing their equipment and setting up in the gymnasium. Unfortunately, Kindergartens were not able to be part of this program due to age restrictions for climbing. This is an approved Board program and student safety will be ensured.  Students who are participating are required to have a consent form signed for each child to participate which will be sent home this week. Please return this form to your child’s teacher by June 15th.  The $12 cost per student is being covered by the school council and the school from fundraising proceeds.

A reminder to please arrive on time for school as we are seeing a lot of late students which is disruptive to student learning and teaching. Also, send notes in agendas for pick ups or changes in routines for appointments.

Merci! Have a great month!
