Reminders – Week of September 23

Posted September 23, 2019

There are lots of great events happening at CHES this week.

Monday and Tuesday – Good luck to our Junior and Intermediate soccer teams. The tournament is held at CHES and we are pleased to welcome all of the Dufferin schools to Shelburne.

Wednesday – Rowan’s Law Day – Rowan Stringer was a 17 year old athlete who died as a result of a concussion. Her favourite colour was purple. We are encouraging everyone to wear purple as a reminder of the importance of reporting all head injuries so that they can be properly treated.

Wednesday – Meet the Teacher and School Carnival – The Carnival and BBQ will take place from 5:30 – 7:00 and classrooms will be open from 6:30 – 8:00. Tickets can be purchased online for both the BBQ and games. Playing 10 games will allow students to enter a draw for a giant jazzy jar. All proceeds will be used to help us build our outdoor play space.
Families can also donate to the CHES Terry Fox Walk, which will be held on Thursday.

Thursday – Pizza Day
Terry Fox Run – Centennial Hylands Elementary School is proud to be participating in the Terry Fox School Run. Please join our school community and continue Terry’s legacy. Donate at: http://www.terryfox.ca/CentennialHylandsESShelburne. The Terry Fox Foundation has a great reputation with 79 cents of every dollar going directly to cancer research. Thank you for joining us in the fight against cancer!

Friday – PD Day – no school for students
