These workshops will be run by self-taught artist Roxana Bahrami. She has a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph but has been designing and creating jewellery pieces in her free time for the past ten years. She has worked with different media (fabric, wood and metal) and used to run her own Etsy jewellery shop. She was introduced to dot painting a few years ago and found it really relaxing as well as fun. Her goal is to introduce others to this fun activity!

DOT PAINTING – MANDALA WALL ART

Mandala painting is the art of using dots to create intricate geometric compositions. The base is a circle, known as the mandala, which represents the whole universe. Mandala-making is relaxing. Some believe that it is therapeutic and calming. The design of mandalas is supposed to be visually and aesthetically pleasing, so as to absorb the mind in such a way that negative thoughts are prevented from going through the mind. During this workshop, you will be introduced to various techniques and use different patterns and colours in your painting. You are encouraged to use your own imagination to customize your artwork by choosing your colour scheme and adding intricate details. No experience in drawing or painting is needed. You will be painting a piece of wall art in this workshop. You just need to bring four acrylic paints in your preferred colors (one must be white) and all other supplies will be provided.
