BLT – BUTT, LEGS & THIGHS

No, this is not Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato! This class will have you lunging, squatting and lifting your way to a shapelier butt and legs. We will also include 20 minutes of core exercises to help strengthen the abdominals and lower back, and finish off the class with some great stretches to elongate those lower body muscles. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat and water bottle. Indoor shoes required.

BODY BLAST

Are you ready for total body workout? All muscle groups will be worked using both body weight exercises and hand held free weights. Focus will be on form first, then repetitions. CIRCUIT TRAINING

Whether you are just beginning an exercise program or want a change of pace from your regular routine, this class is for you. Alternating stations of cardio and muscle conditioning allows for a full workout. Weights and body bars will be provided. FITNESS BOXING/MUSCLE TONING

FITNESS OVER FIFTY – BEGINNERS (DAYTIME)

This gentle body workout is ideal if you’re new to exercise and looking to start a fitness regime ‘later in life’ or you are in rehabilitation. The slow-paced exercises are conducted in a relaxed, fun, nonthreatening environment. Completion of this class will prepare you to attend the regular Fitness Over Fifty class.

HULA HOOP FITNESS

STRETCH & RELAX (DAYTIME)

Stretching is important for all ages in conditioning muscles and tendons to handle challenges in our day-to-day living. As we age, muscles tighten which reduces the range of movement in our joints. This stretch class will work on flexibility, muscle tension and help increase circulation and energy levels. Class will finish with a soothing relaxation routine. Indoor shoes required.

TAI CHI CHIH l

Are you having problems with blood pressure? Balance? Flexibility? T’ai Chi Chih is for all fitness level and can be done seated or standing. The 19 gentle movements and one posture are designed to have the same benefits as T’ai Chi, but are very easy to learn.

This relaxing practice improves your balance and flexibility, increases peace of mind, and leads to better all-round health. Regular practice results in improved body strength, better sleep and weight loss. Indoor shoes required.

YOGA – CHAIR

A gentler yoga class focusing on improved mobility, posture, breath awareness and overall physical and emotional well-being, ideal for arthritis sufferers or anyone who’s uncomfortable sitting on a mat or transitioning between sitting, standing and lying down. The class can be done entirely in the chair, but there will also be standing and reclined options for those who wish to try them.

If you are new to Zumba, an active older adult or starting your fitness journey then this class is for you.
