Eva Olsson Presentation & Character Education Assembly

Posted May 15, 2018

Great things are happening at CMES…

On Monday, students in grade six to eight at CMES and from other local schools, had the opportunity to listen to Eva Olsson, a 93 year old Holocaust survivor speak. Not only did she speak about the Holocaust, but she also spoke of eliminating the word hate from our daily vocabulary, that there are no innocent bystanders in bullying, acceptance and compassion, finding peace and being apart of the solution, never going to bed angry, that racism is learned, life is about we not I, the golden rule; do onto others as you would like done to you, never taking your family for granted, and legacy. It was privilege to have listened to Eva’s life lessons.

On Tuesday, CMES had two character education assemblies, recognizing responsibility. Our band performed at both assemblies, demonstrating the responsibility it takes to learn how to play music. Well done to all of our award recipients and to our band on a job well done.
