Thank you so very much for visiting the book fair over the holiday season.  We sold just over $3500, earning the Learning Commons around $850.  I am planning to spend the money on STEAM manipulatives such as Tinkertoy, stacking blocks, prepared microscope slides, and tubular pipes.

The Forest of Reading books have arrived! The Forest of Reading is Canada’s largest recreational reading program! This initiative of the Ontario Library Association (OLA) offers seven reading programs to encourage a love of reading in people of all ages.  The Forest helps celebrate Canadian books, publishers, authors, and illustrators.  More than 270,000 readers participate annually from their School and/or Public Library.  All Canadians are invited to participate via their local public library, or individually.

This year I would like to run book club meetings for each book.  There are 50 books that need a leader.  There are fiction and nonfiction books of varying lengths, lots of options to choose from.  I would love if you ran a book club. It is a great opportunity to be involved and requires little commitment.  You just need to read a book, set a date for a book talk and show up.  If you are not able to lead a book club but would like to be involved, please consider providing a snack for the meeting.  Please email if you would like to participate or have any questions.

Hope you have a wonder New Year!
