You are invited to a Kindergarten orientation session!
Date: Friday, June 7th, 2019 Time: 9:00-10:00 Place: Credit Meadows Elementary School
Upon arrival, please check the list in the front hallway as to where your child will have their visit. Children will spend the hour in the classroom exploring provocations and table top activities, listening to a story, participating in circle time activities and spending some time in our outdoor kindergarten area. The room your child will be visiting is not an indication of who their teacher may be. We do not accept teacher requests. After dropping your child off, parents will then proceed directly to the gym.
Parents will receive an orientation session in the gym that includes the following:
- Welcome
- Information on how to prepare your child for September
- Question and answer period
- Time to fill out a questionnaire so we can learn as much as possible to make your child’s Junior Kindergarten year as successful as possible.
- Information package handouts: You will receive handouts that will help you prepare for a smooth transition to school. Your child’s entry schedule (short visits before full days of school) will be mailed home to you at the end of June.
- Kindergarten Fair: Agencies will set up booths for you to visit and learn about after school care options, child wellness, school council, neighbourhood group activities, and much more.
We highly encourage you and your child to attend the Kindergarten Orientation, as this visit will help ease any anxiety your child might have over the summer. If you are unable to attend, please call the school as soon as possible to let us know (519 941-7487) and to arrange a time to pick up your orientation package from the main office.
