OSSD Requirements and Community Involvement

Graduation Requirements

Community Involvement

The community involvement requirement is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop awareness and understanding about civic responsibility. They can actively participate in supporting and strengthening their communities. It also provides the opportunity for students to learn more about themselves and possible career opportunities. The Upper Grand District School Board has created the following reference document to inform students and their parents about what type of activities qualify towards the requirement: Community Involvement Guide

Students and/or their parents are strongly encouraged to check with the Guidance Department before completing an activity that is not on the eligible activity list provided in the guide. Of particular importance is to note the difference between community involvement volunteering to do work that is typically paid for.
