Elora Public School Continues to be a “3UP/ 2DOWN” School

Posted September 30, 2018

What does that mean? We believe that all of us benefit from more fruits and vegetables, more sleep and more physical activity. We also believe that less sugar and less screen time is essential to our well being.

At Elora Public School, we will continue to encourage the “3Up/ 2Down” values.  How?

  • Our Snack Program
  • Our Salad Days Program
  • DPA (Daily Physical Activity)
  • Outdoor Recess
  • Educating  and modelling 3UP/ 2DOWN ideas
  • Outdoor Education experiences

Ways That You Can Help

  • Help your come prepared to be outside in all different types of weather (rain, snow, heat and cold)
  • Send lunches packed full of healthy snacks (especially those fruits and vegetables), while avoiding sugary snacks
  • Have routine bedtimes – elementary students need anywhere from 10 – 13 hours of sleep per night

We encourage families to continue practicing  3UP/2DOWN at home as well! We know the benefits will make you feel better, work better and learn better!
