It’s Cape Day at Elora P.S.!

Cape Day
Today, Elora P.S. has joined forces with Mrs. Lawson’s grade 2/3 class.   We  are wearing capes to support Holland Bloorview Rehabilitation Hospital.
Alex is one of the students in Mrs. Lawson’s class.   He has Cerebral Palsy.   Two years ago, Alex had surgery to help improve his mobility.  He and his mom spent several months at Holland Bloorview where he learned how to walk, run, jump and play better than he did before.  Alex is a charismatic kid with a great sense of humor and is now an ambassador for the hospital. He always has such a positive attitude and spreads kindness where ever he goes.

Capes for Kid is a fundraiser for the Holland Bloorview.  The idea behind the cape is it allows children with disabilities to be more visible and to start a conversation.  So today, we are having a Capes for Kids day at Elora PS.  Staff and students are encouraged to wear capes.  Donations will be collected online.

Thank you families for your support so far!   Here’s a few words from Alex himself:
