On June 2, 2021, the provincial government announced that Ontario schools will remain in remote learning for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.

This means that all UGDSB students will continue learning remotely for the rest of this school year, with the exception of those students currently attending specialized class placements in person.

Please note that school boards are required to follow the direction of the province.

We understand that while this news from the province may be a relief to some, it will be a source of stress and challenge to others. Our schools and staff will continue to work with families to support students with their learning and wellness needs. If students require support, families are asked to reach out to their teacher or principal.

The UGDSB will continue to offer supports through the summer months, including Summer School programming as well as supports for students with special education needs, mental health needs and those requiring transition supports. Summer School programming includes literacy and numeracy support for students in grades 6-8, new credit, upgrading credit and credit recovery options for secondary students, and more.  You can learn more about Summer School options at: https://www.ugdsb.ca/continuing-education/credit-courses/summer-school/

We are appreciative of the continued hard work and perseverance of our students, staff and families throughout this school year.
