Wanted: Songs of celebration from many different cultures!
We will be having two sing-along assemblies in December and have a great selection of winter songs. I would like to have songs from a wider variety of cultures, though, and for that I could use your help. If your family sings a certain song to celebrate a special winter holiday, then please send me a YouTube link or come in to sing to me! I want all of our students to be able to feel a connection with some of our songs so the sing-alongs are meaningful and special for everyone.
Finally, we hope to see everyone at school on Thursday for the annual Winter Event. Flyers are coming home in backpacks today, but you need to know that the evening starts at 6 PM and this year, for the first time, there will be a Holiday Market. Families are invited to donate gently used items to the market, which will then be for sale to children only at prices of $3 or less. It will be a chance for children to shop for a special present for family members. Tickets for the raffle baskets will be for sale that night too along with popcorn and hot chocolate. It is always a super-fun evening!
I hope everyone has a good Friday and a lovely weekend.
