The province has ordered all publicly funded schools in Ontario to close for two weeks following March Break, in response to the emergence in Ontario of COVID-19. As a result, Upper Grand DSB schools will be closed from March 14 to April 5, 2020.
With March Break approaching, many families and staff have questions about international travel and precautions required upon returning from travel. A letter with travel advice from Public Health is posted on the UGDSB website.
Attention Parents, the School Council meeting scheduled for Thursday March 26th has been cancelled due to a scheduling conflict with Parent/Teacher interviews. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Information for parents and guardians of secondary school students, regarding new provincial sanctions and their effect on secondary interim report cards.
City staff will be conducting site reviews for the next few weeks all across the city. Staff will be at some current adult crossing guard locations and at other locations where there has been a request for an adult guard. Site reviews are completed prior to scheduling a field study.

The City of Guelph has advised the Board that the railway crossing at Dublin Street and Kent Street no longer meets Transport Canada regulations. City staff will present a bylaw amendment to close Dublin Street at the railway crossing at the March 30 Council meeting. If the bylaw is approved by City Council, the permanent closure is planned for April 20, 2020.

On January 23, 2020, the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) announced that its elementary teachers and occasional teachers will take part in a one-day, full withdrawal of services in select locations across Ontario on Tuesday Jan. 28.
