On Jan. 8, 2020, the Minister of Education announced that the decision with respect to the administration of the EQAO Grade 9 Math Assessment for semester 1 would be left to individual school boards.

Students in the Upper Grand District School Board will not be participating in the EQAO Grade 9 Math Assessment this January.

A reminder to please not schedule trips, vacations or appointments during final evaluations or final exams.

UGCloud passwords

The passwords to login to UGCloud for all IEP students have been reset. Students can use their OEN number on Chromebooks or Desktops. However, they can only change the password from their OEN number if they login to a desktop. When students login to a desktop they are not​ immediately prompted to change their password. This year Upper Grand District School Board and Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health are collecting information on student health and well-being from youth, parents and school staff. The Well-Being and Health Youth Surveys are designed to help us understand how well we are doing creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments in our schools. It also provides important information about the physical and mental health of youth in our area.

Author Lawrence Hill speaks to GCVI students about creative writing, Black History

GUELPH, Ontario – Students at Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute had the unique opportunity to spend some time speaking with Canadian author Lawrence Hill at the school on Tuesday.

Hill is the award-winning author of ten fiction and non-fiction books including The Book of Negros and The Illegal. When Hill is not writing his next novel, he works as a creative writing professor at the University of Guelph.
