Guelph Lake Reorganization

Posted September 15, 2021

Dear Guelph Lake Grades 1-8 Families,

As you have read in our school newsletter, classroom organizations are temporary until they are approved by the District Staffing Committee, using our updated enrolment numbers.  This email is to inform you that, in order to comply with Ministry class size requirements, the Upper Grand District School Board’s District Staffing Committee has assigned Guelph Lake Public School a new school organization.  These changes impact many of our classes and students from Grades 1-8.

We will be thoughtfully rebuilding our classes in a way that will ensure positive transitions for our students. Additionally, where possible, the student’s previous teacher will be consulted.  Unfortunately, we are not able to take parent requests for the reorganization due to the extremely short timelines.

Parents will be contacted by letter on Thursday, September 16th if their child will be changing classes. Students will start in their new class on Friday, September 17th.

It is our goal to ensure a smooth transition for your child as they move to their new class. As parents, please help to reduce your child’s concerns by remaining optimistic and don’t hesitate to communicate information you feel would be helpful to your child’s new teacher.

Thank you to all the students, staff, and parents for your patience and confidence as we move through this process together.
