Hyland Heights News for March 19th, 2021

Posted March 23, 2021

Good evening Parents & Guardians,

We have had another good week here at Hyland Heights. Everyone looked great in green this week.

Our spirit days continue throughout the month of March:

-Rock Your Socks Day in recognition of World Down Syndrome Day- March 22nd

-Wear Purple in recognition of World Epilepsy Day- March 26th

Please continue to check our school website for other updates. We also post to the UG Connect App and Twitter.

A few reminders as we head into the weekend:

-Please remember to use our Kiss n’ Ride that is in the high school parking lot, close to our kindergarten pack. The front parking lot in front of the school is closed for buses at the beginning of the day, during the middle of the day when the high school uses our parking lot for their busing needs, and the end of the day. Thank you for being cooperative and using the Kiss n’ Ride so our students and staff are safe.

-Each child and staff member must complete the self-screening tool that is posted on our school website. Please do not send your child to school if they do not pass the screening and follow the advice that is given when you receive your child’s self-screening results.

-On the advice of Public Health we are asking all parents and caregivers to wear a mask while on school property. Social distancing can be  difficult to maintain on the back tarmac as our tarmac space is limited and the movement of children can sometimes be unpredictable. Please help us keep everyone feeling comfortable and safe.

-Please remember to bring water to school to drink. Our water fountains are closed due to COVID protocols, but our water bottle refilling stations are open.

Take care and have a great weekend. The weather looks like it will be fantastic.
