Friday May 13- Hawks Wear or School Colours Day

Tuesday May 17- International Day Against Homophobia, transphobia and Biphobia, wear rainbow colours

Our running club started this week for grades 7-8, planning for our talent show is in full swing, and our Black Brilliance club members did short presentations in a number of our primary classrooms. Members read a book “ Skin Like Mine” and played musical instruments with the younger students. We are so proud of our student leaders!

The UGDSB’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is hosting an engagement night on May 4th from 545-8pm. Please see this link to register and for more information. PIC Flyer May 2022.pdf

School Council meets this Monday at 6pm. Please call the school or follow the School Council Facebook page for the meeting code. We always welcome new members. Thanks to our School Council for supporting our recent Hyland Heights Reads program and supporting the Scientists in the School program for each homeroom class. Hyland Heights School Council has started their MacMillians fundraiser. Please check your child’s backpack for more information. Orders are due back next week. All funds that are raised support our students and our school.

Please make sure to call our attendance line if your child is absent with your child’s full name, their teacher’s name and reason for absence. Our first goal of the day is to ensure that all children have arrived at school safely and those who are not, are safe at home.  If we do not receive a phone call, this makes the process longer to ensure that all students are accounted for. Thank you for your cooperation.
