Hyland Heights News for June 10th

Posted June 10, 2022

Good morning Hawk Families,

It’s been another amazing week at Hyland Heights. Over the last week, we welcomed our new JKs for a visit, our grade 8s went for a visit at Centre Dufferin, our students are practicing for our school wide talent show, primary students are having fun playing intramural t ball at recess, and grad planning is well underway. Thank you for supporting our grads as they have been fundraising by selling freezies. Please note, June 10th will be our last freezie Friday. The month of June is Pride month as well as National Indigenous History. Please check out our Twitter @Hyland Hawks or our school website https://www.ugdsb.ca/hylandheights/  for more information about how we are recognizing these over the next month.

Our last virtual School Council meeting of the year was held on June 6th.  Please look for your mailout from School Council and be sure to join School Council when it starts up again the fall. Thank you for your support during our recent School Council Fundraiser. Together the community raised $3300 dollars. This funding will be used towards Scientists in the School presentations. We hope your child(ren) have come home and talked all about the Scientists and the exciting things that they have learned.

Please return any school materials such as school library books and book bags as soon as possible.

A reminder that we have our lost and found items displayed in our front foyer. Please stop by and have a look. Any unclaimed items will be donated on June 24th.
