ILPS wishes all of our families a safe and restful March Break

Posted March 8, 2019

Dear ILPS families,
We have had a busy start to Term 2 and are looking forward to our return to school on Monday, March 18th. The last few months of school always seem to fly by!
This week we were privileged to have the Orangeville Community Band perform for all of our grades – What an amazing experience! Along the way we learned lots of information about instruments, pitch and tempo. Thank you to Joy Spencer and all of the band members for taking the time to come to Island Lake.
Our ILPS Hockey Team, organized by Mrs. Gear, had a fantastic showing at the tournament this week. We ended up coming in 2nd overall after some amazing games. Our Ospreys represented our school very well.
Mrs. Teo’s special education class and our DD EA team attended the Special Olympics on Tuesday at the University of Guelph. They had a fantastic day participating in the events. Way to go, Ospreys! Check out the calendar on the website for more info on all of the activities we participated in! https://www.ugdsb.ca/islandlake/
It was great to see all of the spirited Hawaiian students dressed for the sunshine today!
We ended off the week with our second intermediate staff/student volleyball game. After a crushing defeat earlier this year, the staff came back to win today. The score is now tied at 1-1. We are waiting for the next opportunity to see who will take the series!
Have a wonderful March Break together – we wish you peace.
Sincerely,
Sean Singh
