ILPS November 2019- School Newsletter

Posted November 5, 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It’s November at ILPS!  Fall is definitely in the air and leaves are on the ground!  The clocks were turned back on  Sunday, November 3rd this year – it is nice to have some more light in the mornings!  We have reminded our students that it will be getting darker earlier in the evening and to take care if they are out and about after school hours.

There are a number of special events and activities that our school is involved in.  For detailed information on what is happening, please check the school website calendar at https://www.ugdsb.ca/islandlake/calendar/monthly/

On Remembrance Day, Monday, Nov 11, our assembly will be from 10:35 am—11:30 am(approx).  On that day, recess will be from 9:35-10:25 am so we can all be in the gym for 11:00 am. Our Island Lake families are welcome to attend (seating is limited).   A wreath has been purchased on behalf of Island Lake by our School Council.  It will be placed at the Cenotaph on Monday by Mr. Broderick and Mrs. Hughson’s grade 5 classes on behalf of the school.

Report Cards and Interviews

We will be sending home report cards on Thursday, November 21st.  Teacher Interviews will take place on November 28th and 29th.

This year, Island Lake PS will, once again, be using the UGDSB Online Booking system for our Progress Report interviews.  We will be sending home instructions for use in a separate email early in November.  There will be a letter in the Progress Report Card envelope with instructions and the dates that the Online Booking system will open and close.
