PIN Internet Safety

Posted November 7, 2019

This year, your ILPS Council will be offering a variety of Parent Information Nights throughout the school year.  These nights will cover different topics that parents may find useful and interesting.  Our next Parent Information Night will be on the topic of Internet Safety.

According to KidsHealth.org, the Internet can be wonderful for kids. They can use it to research school reports, communicate with teachers and other kids, and play interactive games. But online access also comes with risks, like inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and online predators. Parents should be aware of what their kids see and hear on the Internet, who they meet, and what they share about themselves.

Scott Davis of Orangeville Police Service will be speaking about how to keep kids safe on social media and also how parents can be aware of what their kids are doing behind the screen.

The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday November 26th beginning at 7:00pm in the ILPS Gymnasium.  All parents are welcome to attend this free night.

We look forward to seeing many parents at this event.
