ITEM PICKUP INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARENTS (PICKUP DATE JUNE 2nd 2020)

Posted May 25, 2020

DEAR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS:

We are happy to announce that we have a plan for parents to come to the school to collect their child(ren)‘s belongings. As you can imagine organizing for the collection of items for close to 540 students is challenging as we are required to have protocols in place to limit the number of people in our buildings at any given time, enforce social distancing and limit the locations that people are able to access within the building.

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY TO ENSURE ALL PROTOCOLS ARE FOLLOWED CORRECTLY

THE PROCESS

  • Arrive at the school at your assigned time (you will likely need to wait in line for a period of time).  If you drive, please make sure that you are following all Town of Orangeville posted parking rules.  Spaces in the school parking lot are first come, first served.  Please be careful if parking on the tarmac, as the entrance (by the garbage bins) can only fit one car through at a time
  • Line up at the front doors and along sidewalk beside the Kindergarten yard, standing 6 feet from the person in front of you (there will be markers on the ground indicating the appropriate distance)
  • Enter when invited
  • If your child has medication that is stored in the office, indicate this to the person at the medication table in the front foyer and they will make sure you receive this medication.
  • Student belongings will be in a labelled bag outside their classroom.
  • Use the hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting
  • Proceed directly to your child’s classroom.  If you don’t know the location of your child’s classroom, a staff member in an orange vest will be able to direct you.
  • If one of your children is in a portable/ecopak, please go to the portable/ecopak LAST.
  • If you only need to access belongings from a portable/ecopak, please go directly to the tarmac area by the portables and line up there and wait for directions from staff.
  • Once you have picked up all belongings, please exit quickly through the front doors of the school.
