First Day (September 7th) Drop off and Pick up Procedures

Dear Families,

Please click on the link at the end of this letter for instructions and a map for first day pick up and drop off procedures.

***Special Note for Kindergarten Bus Students- One of your teachers will greet you in the front hall when you arrive at school on the first day. And guess what….they will be holding a picture of a special animal/symbol so you will know who they are!

Here are your class animals/symbol to look for when you get off the bus and come into the school:

Mme Boys and Billings Flamingo
Mme Ecclestone and Readyhough T Rex
Mme McGregor and McCarroll Turtles
Mme Stirling/Skerritt

Mrs. Walker and Heyden

Wolf

Coconuts

We hope you practise recognizing your special class animal/symbol so you will know your teacher when you come in.

Please note that the X on the map in the link below indicates where your child will be dropped off and picked up. All kindergarten and Mme Dean and Mme Bennett’s class will enter and exit through their external classroom doors. Bus students will enter and exit through the front door. All other classes will enter and exit through the church doors.

If it is raining at the start of the day, classes that would normally meet their teacher outside of the school will go directly into the school from the church hallway or from the bus. Parents/Guardians are not permitted in the school, so teachers and staff will be in the hallways to guide students. The procedure will remain the same, regardless of weather, for all of our kindergarten classes and Mme Dean and Mme Bennett.

If it is raining at the end of the day, dismissal will be the same for all of our kindergarten classes and Mme Dean and Mme Bennett. All other classes will be dismissed, one class at a time, out the church doors. Bus students will exit out the front doors.

We know this is an unprecedented time, but we would ask that you:

  1. Talk with your child about the need for social distancing (2m) at school at all times;
  2. Talk with your child about the need to wear face masks and frequently wash/sanitize hands;
  3. That drop offs in the morning and pick ups at the end of the day are done as quickly as possible and that social distancing and mask wearing is maintained at all times.

We look forward to seeing all of you again!
