What a Year of Giving! – A Year End Update from Me to We

Posted June 25, 2019

Our JD Hogarth Me to We group has had another amazing year of raising awareness and funds for several different charities and social justice initiatives.

In the fall we donated over 1200 items to the Centre Wellington Food Bank in addition to $586.    Me to We members kicked this fundraiser off by talking to each of the classes about the valuable service that the Food Bank provides in our community.

After  the Christmas Holidays we focused our efforts on the ME to We initiative, We Walk for Water by bringing awareness to the classes on the daily efforts that many communities need to go just to access clean water and the impact that has on daily living and health.  We raised $300 during our Walk that was matched by Free the Children allowing our donations to provide clean water to 24 people for life!! In addition to this specific Me to We Pillar, Hogarth also donated an additional $586 to Free the Children’s area of greatest need.

Our final recipient of the year long fundraising (through cookie and popcorn sales) was the Guelph Humane Society.  They too received $586.

Way to go Hogarth Hawks!  Together WE change the world!
