Welcome Back JD Hogarth Families

Posted January 14, 2022

Hello JD Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back on Monday, January 17th.  Please take a minute to review the information below and share with your child/ren:

Screen for Symptoms Daily

All families are required to complete the COVID-19 School Screening before leaving for school.  Schools will verify that student screening has taken place each day. Please note the symptom list has changed:

What are the signs and symptoms of COVID-19?

  • Fever and/or chills; OR
  • Cough; OR
  • Shortness of breath; OR
  • Decrease or loss of taste or smell; OR
  • OR Two or more of:

○ Runny nose/nasal congestion

○ Headache

○ Extreme fatigue

○ Sore throat

○ Muscle aches/joint pain

○ Gastrointestinal symptoms (i.e., vomiting, nausea, diarrhea)

NEW Isolation Requirements

In most cases, you must self-isolate immediately for at least 5 days from your symptom onset and until your symptoms have been improving for 24 hours. All of your household members (regardless of their vaccination status) must self-isolate while you are self-isolating. Please note, Public Health will no longer be conducting contact tracing for individual cases and class dismissals will no longer occur.

Masks

All students (JK-Grade 12+) are required to wear a mask or face covering when in school or on a school transportation vehicle. Students will be provided with three-layer cloth masks to add to their current supply of reusable masks when the shipment arrives. Please continue to send extra for your child

Recess Information

We will continue with a staggered recess break and lunch times to minimize student contact. We will be returning to recess zones.  This means students must play only with members of their class cohort in a designated outdoor space.

Chromebook and SEA Computers to be Returned:

All students who borrowed a school chromebook or have their SEA computer at home are asked to return the chromebook and charger to their homeroom teacher on Monday, January 17th. We will continue to share information and updates with the J.D. Hogarth community as it becomes available.   Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions.
