Our Community Goals – October

Posted October 20, 2021

At Jean Little our Motto is Work Hard, Be Kind and Make a Difference, we are always working on ways to make this true and can always use the support of our parents, caregivers and neighbourhood community.

An area that we are ‘Working Hard’ on improving is:

Safety and Respect in our Neighbourhood and Schoolyard

DO ✅

DO NOT 🚫

  • Use the ‘Kiss and Ride’ marked areas to drop off students who can get out of the car and close doors independently
  • Get out of the car in the ‘Kiss and Ride’ area and walk your student to the school yard or doors
  • Use the crosswalks and respecting our student safety patrollers when they are on duty
  • Jaywalk across the street because it is quicker or faster from where you parked or live.
  • Respect the property and driveways of our neighbours
  • Block driveways, leave garbage on lawns or walk on or touch lawns and gardens in the neighbourhood.

An area that we are ‘Working Hard’ on improving is:

Digital Citizenship

Our focus is the 5 pillars of Digital Citizenship. All members of the Jean Little Community strive to be Inclusive, Informed, Alert, Engaged and Balanced in their Digital worlds.

Some specific things we are working on:

  • Never taking photos or videos of people without their consent.
  • Never posting or sharing videos or photos of people without their consent.
  • Never recording or sharing videos that are hurtful to people, or contain hateful or destructive messages.

Thank you for engaging in these conversations with your children and recognizing that our actions as adults can positively impact the choices and decisions our student community makes.
