Authentic learning to dismantle systemic racism and oppression in its various forms

Black Heritage, Black Brilliance, Black Futures Month

Throughout the month of February, a variety of resources and supports centering Black histories, experiences, and contributions are highlighted and made available in order to support learning and celebration across all grades in the UGDSB. We look forward to sharing and connecting with this work at Jean Little and invite families with lived experiences or connections to this important work to connect with the office with any questions or suggestions.

Well-Being and Health Youth Survey (WHY Survey)

Beginning on February 14, the Upper Grand District School Board is collecting information on student health and well-being from youth, parents/guardians/caregivers, and school staff. The Well-Being and Health Youth Surveys are designed to help us understand how well we are doing creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments in our schools. It also provides important information about the physical and mental health of youth in our area. More information will be sent on February 7th.

This month’s UGDSB Wellness Works explores the theme of Realistic Optimism

Realistic optimism is not about always seeing the positive. It is about recognizing that obstacles exist, focusing on what we can control, and looking for opportunities to problem solve even during times of struggle. Realistic optimism requires cognitive flexibility skills.

Our school website is always a great place to start for info and our school calendar is updated regularly to reflect upcoming dates.
