Louis Riel Day
Today we will be flying the Metis Flag at John F Ross and we will fly it until the end of Riel Day tomorrow. The flag shows a white infinity symbol on a field of blue. The infinity symbol has two meanings: it represents the faith that the Metis culture shall live on forever, and the mixing of the European immigrants (primarily French) and the First Nations peoples or the unity of two cultures. Take a moment today to recognize the Metis nation as an integral part of our Current Diverse Canadian Culture.
