Grade 9 Orientation Day Information
Welcome to John F Ross! Grade 9 Orientation Day will be happening on Monday, August 30th from 9:30AM to 1:30PM. Students can be dropped off on Meyer Dr. near the student parking lot. Please note that there is no school bus transportation for this day. Students should be prepared for outdoor activities and bring a water bottle for the day. Lunch will be provided.
Each grade 9 student will have a senior mentor, a Sidekick, whom they will meet during orientation. This student will also be their mentor for their first year of high school. The purpose of the orientation and mentorship program is to help ease the transition for grade 9 students into high school, meet a variety of students from all grades and encourage grade 9’s to get involved at Ross. Between August 28th-29th all grade 9’s can expect a call from their Sidekick leader who will share more information about the day and answer any questions. It is strongly recommended that grade 9 students attend the entire orientation process on Monday, August 30th; however, if you are unable to attend, you will still be assigned a student mentor who will assist with the transition into grade 9.
