Offsite Programs

The da Vinci Arts & Science Environmental Leadership Program at John F. Ross CVI is an interdisciplinary program open to all grade 11 students from across the Upper Grand District School Board.  Students will have the opportunity to obtain 4 Grade 11 credits (English ENG 3U, Biology SBI 3U, Visual Arts AEA3O and Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology HSP3U) in a natural setting nestled amongst hiking trails, forests and ponds of the Arboretum at the University of Guelph.

CELP and Headwaters are semester-long four credit environmental leadership programs that foster a sense of wonder for the natural world in our students, develop an understanding of current environmental issues, and teach hands-on skills in sustainable living while meeting Ontario curriculum requirements for high school credits. Students are bussed from their home schools each day to Camp Edgewood in Eden Mills.  CELP is designed for grade 10 students while Headwaters is for grade 12 students.

Beyond Borders

Beyond Borders offers active, involved, community-minded Grade 12 students a unique, integrated and experiential opportunity to combine Business, English, Media and Leadership learning with a focus on globalization, technology and social responsibility.  This 4-credit program will promote the importance of social responsibility and volunteer involvement in all programming. Leadership builds self worth, as do the opportunities provided to practice critical thinking in the real world, to take responsive, responsible action and to develop the positive relationships that come from working with and on behalf of children, peers and adults in the community. Students will gain the confidence to make well-informed life choices that will prepare them for bright academic futures and successful professional careers.  
The program runs through Centennial CVI and is open to all UGDSB student in Guelph.  This program is by application only.  Check the Beyond Borders website for information on applying.
This innovative 4-credit program is designed for Grade 11 students with a keen interest in the Arts.  The courses focus on the creative exploration of the arts and all levels of ability are welcome in this collaborative environment. Students will explore Music, Art, Drama and English in an integrated, non-traditional environment.  In this downtown setting, student “artrepreneurs” will experience real world opportunities through local partnerships, develop their craft, and become confident, creative thinkers.  You cannot choose this program using myBlueprint.
