A French Immersion Certificate is granted when the student has successfully completed the following:
FIF1D, FIF2D, FIF3U, FIF4U (language courses, one each year)
Plus another 6 French Immersion courses, two of which must be at the Senior level
Grand total of at least 10 French courses.
During Immersion classes, students are required to speak in French exclusively.
The French Immersion Certificate is not a certificate of bilingualism.
Students choosing to participate in special programs that require a full semester – such as CELP, Da Vinci, Headwaters, etc. – may need to return for a 5th year in order to complete their certification requirements.
