School Immunization Update from Public Health

Posted May 28, 2020

As the province of Ontario has announced extended school closures in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, school-based vaccine programs were also suspended.

The health of your children is very important. At this time, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is developing a plan for how to get children in grade 7 the second dose of their vaccine series as soon as it is safe to do so. WDGPH will continue to share any updates on this plan as it becomes available.

Students who missed receiving vaccines due to COVID-19 school closures will be able to complete the series of recommended vaccines. Re-starting a series will not be necessary.
