Online learning in UGDSB to continue until further notice

January 28, 2021

On Thursday Jan. 28, the Ministry of Education made an announcement regarding the resumption of in-person learning for some school boards in the province. Please note that the UGDSB was not included in the list of boards that are permitted to resume in-person instruction the week of Feb. 1, 2021.

This means that all UGDSB schools will continue with our current measures for online learning until further notice.

Specialized classes for students with developmental disabilities (DD Classes) in elementary and secondary schools will remain open for in-person learning for those students. Transportation will continue for those students.

During the period of temporary online learning, child care for non-school aged children will remain open and emergency child care for school-aged children of frontline workers will continue until in-person learning resumes. Before and/or After School Programs will remain closed until in-person learning resumes.

Please note that the return to in-person learning within our region will be determined firstly by the province and then confirmed by Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health’s Medical Officer of Health if local epidemiology requires additional public health measures.

We will continue to provide updates to our schools and families as we receive them.

Thank you for your continued support.
