EJPS Week at a Glance (Oct 10-14)
Chers parents,
Firstly, thank you all for your supportive messages and questions surrounding the upsetting event from last Friday. The silver lining is the demonstration of EJPS community togetherness and that lessons for continual improvement can always be taken from challenging situations.If you or your child(dren) still have any concerns or require support relating to last week’s event please contact me directly at [email protected] and I can assist you.
The month of October is going quickly and we have many things to look forward to. More clubs are starting up. For example, with the partnership of EJ community grandparents, Ellen and Gordon Webb, we will be offering the Drama Song Dance club with Mme Mizuatni and the Doodle Art club with Mme Paxman. Days and times will be shared on the morning announcements. Below are some important information items and updates:
- Monday, October 10th is the Thanksgiving holiday and the school will be closed.
- CCAT testing for Grade 3s will be occurring between Oct 11th and 14th.
- Jr Cross Country is happening at the Rockwood Conservation Area on October 13th.
- IEPs will be sent home for parent feedback on October 18th.
- EJ School Council meeting will be in the school library on October 18th at 6:30PM.
- School Photo Day will be on Friday, October 21st.
- Monday, October 24th will be a PA Day.
- Monday, October 31st will be a day students will have the option to participate in Halloween/Black & Orange Day activities. More information to follow.
**The UGDSB Counts Student Census is still open and accepting responses until October 9th, 2022, for all students in the UGDSB, K-12. Please consider participation. To learn more visit https://www.ugdsb.ca/board/ugdsb-counts-student-census-2022/. The optional student survey is to be done at home with parent support.
Here is some fundraising information from the School Council.
- Pumpkin Fundraiser > Medium Carving Pumpkins provided by TJ’s Pumpkins > $7/pumpkin > Pick up will be Sunday, October 16th at the school during Garden Clean up! ORDER DEADLINES ON SCHOOL CASH ONLINE: Pumpkins, Tuesday, October 11th:
- Food Programs: Subway will be on Tuesdays and start on Oct 11th and Pizza on Thursdays and start on Oct 13. The deadline to order has passed.
Thank you for a great week. I am grateful for the kindness and support abundant in the EJPS community. Enjoy time with your family this weekend and on the extra day off be sure to take in the beautiful fall tree colours which are reaching their peak of radiance!
