EJPS Week at a Glance (Oct 31 – Nov 4)
Chers parents,
Lots of activities are happening beyond the regular classroom learning. For instance, our Grade 5s and 6s were able to see a theatre performance at the River Run thanks to the generosity of Linamar. Various clubs are up and running with more being developed as the seasons change. Our Eagles Alliance Equity club has spearheaded an EJ logo re-imagined design contest. Members of the Eagle Equity Alliance reviewed a total of 87 entries from students across the grade levels. Through 3 rounds of voting, the EEA used a sticker voting system to come to consensus on designs they felt best represented our school, were neat/clear and creative/colourful. We narrowed 87 entries down to their top 10 choices. This was a student vote based on the predetermined and co-generated criteria from the logo contest guidelines, and based on final student preferences. Entries were kept anonymous, as student names and teachers/classes were written on the backs of all submissions. Mme Motto led the discussion, provided guidance and counted the final tally of stickers for each entry. From these top 10 student selected designs, staff were asked to vote on their top 5 designs.
We are now sharing out to the school community to help narrow down to 3 final designs. The top 3 designs will be shared with a professional designer. Elements of the final designs will be incorporated into our new school logo.

Below are some important dates:
- Monday, October 31st – Halloween and/or Black & Orange Day activities. Costume Parade will be occurring at 11:40 AM on the field if weather permits. Parents are welcome to join us and view. Please just access the back field and no need to sign in. Please leave once the parade is over. No posting of students in costume on social media please. - November 6 -11 – Treaty Recognition Week
- Friday, November 11th – Remembrance Day service
- Monday, November 14th – Picture Retake Day
- November 15-17 – Progress Reports will be available
- November 15 – School Council Meeting
- November 21-25 – Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week
- November 25 – PA Day (parent-teacher conferences, more information to come)*The date was incorrect in the last email.
