EJPS Week at a Glance (Dec 5 – 9)

Chers parents,

It’s hard to believe that December is already here! With the Winter Holiday coming around the corner it’s also good to prepare for some of the challenges that winter brings us. A reminder that, as with every winter, inclement weather conditions may result in bus cancellations and/or school closures. Decisions on buses and school operations due to inclement weather are made as soon as key information is available and no later than 6:30am the morning of. To check the status of school buses each morning visit www.stwdsts.ca, and to check the status of school closures visit www.ugdsb.ca.

On the fun side of winter, we are all looking forward to the EJ Holiday Extravaganza 2022 that will be hosted in our gymnasium on December 14th. For this event, parents will not need to sign in or sign out at the office due to the expected volume. I will be monitoring the entrance and exit times at the Gym doors. Please note, as per health recommendations during this season of respiratory illnesses, that we are doing our best to mitigate folks from getting sick in a crowded space by breaking up our presentation into three parts and to have a non-student ONLY audience. Since we recognize that students benefit from seeing each other perform, students can view their friends and/or siblings in other classes perform at the dress rehearsal the day before the actual concert. With that said, we ask that parents not sign out any children out of class to join one of the concert times to view their friends or siblings perform. Not only will this avoid crowding in the Gym but it will also avoid our office coordinator, Mme McLeod, having to administer an unmanageable amount of sign outs and ins. To that end, we truly appreciate your cooperation with our request which aims to uphold student safety.
