EJPS Week at a Glance (May 29 – June 2)

Chers parents,

It’s hard to believe that there are 23 school days left!  This past week was a fun one. Jr students walked to the Bookshelf Cinema on Tuesday and then on Thursday we had our EJ Junior Track Day. The week ended with the DSD club doing a wonderful presentation of their mini-play “Bottom of the Sea”. Congratulations to those primary and junior performers! A big thanks to Mme Ammon for organizing our Jr Track Day and the Bookshelf field trip. Additionally, we could not have run the Track Day or attend the Bookshelf Cinema without our amazing parent volunteers. Mille mercis! Also, we truly appreciate Mme Mizutani and grandparent volunteers Mr. and Mrs. Webb for their dedication and creative efforts in putting on this great work of dramatic arts.

Next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the two first blocks (8:30-10:30 & 11:10 – 12:40) our Grade 6 students will be participating in EQAO assessments. Please avoid booking appointments around those days so we can ensure our students are all present to write the tests. We will have a PD Day on Friday where teachers will be doing professional learning around literacy, numeracy, learning recovery, and student mental health. Thursday is also June 1st which is the beginning of Pride Month. All schools in the UGDSB fly the Pride Flag during the month of June. The UGDSB supports 2SLGBTQIA+ staff, students and their families by celebrating the joy of identity and centering 2SLGBTQIA+ histories, contributions and excellence in our learning and work communities.

Lastly, we are looking for a fourth recess and nutrition break paid supervisor to join our team. Would you like to make a difference at our school and help keep our students safe? The paid position requires you to help supervise students outside and inside the school from 10:30 AM to 11:10 AM and 12:40 PM to 1:20 PM. Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in applying

Moving in the fall? Please inform the office by email ([email protected]) or call 519-763-7374. Also, the coming week will be a hot one. Please pack water bottles, sunscreen, and hats for your children.
