The message below is being shared on behalf of the Guelph Fire Department.

Dear students and families,

It’s Fire Prevention Week from October 3-9! This year’s campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” works to educate everyone about the different sounds that smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. Knowing what to do when an alarm sounds will keep you and your family safe. When an alarm makes noises – a beeping sound or a chirping sound – you must take action.

During Fire Prevention Week, the Guelph Fire Department would like to remind everyone about the importance of the sounds of fire safety in your homes. Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are required in your homes by law and work to ensure you and your families are able to safely escape your home in the event of an emergency. Should you have any questions with about fire safety, feel free to contact us at 519 763-8111 or email [email protected].

Yours in fire safety,

The Guelph Fire Dept.
